At RooveMusic and ScoreFlip, we design applications with a practitioner-first mindset. This extends directly to how we treat your data. We believe your musical scores, audio files, and practice history are entirely your own.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with our services, we collect minimal data required to deliver core conversion utilities:
- Uploaded Assets: Sheet music photographs, scanned PDF files, or raw audio files (MP3/WAV/M4A) that you select for conversion.
- Usage Logs: Anonymized system performance metrics (e.g. conversion duration, success/error states, web browser type) to help optimize our transcribing engine.
- Subscription Data: Contact and payment records handled entirely via our billing provider, Stripe. We do not store full credit card details on our servers.
2. How We Handle Your Music files
Unlike other platforms that retain files to build lock-in loops, we implement **Zero Storage Retention** for general conversions:
- For our free browser tools, your uploaded images or audio are processed temporarily in memory to complete the transcription. Once output files (MIDI, MusicXML, WAV) are returned to your browser, your source files are permanently discarded from our processing cache.
- In the ScoreFlip mobile/desktop applications, files are stored locally on your device by default, unless you explicitly opt into multi-device cloud backups.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser Local Storage to remember options you set on our tools (e.g. your active billing cycle selection, or the default audio instrument voice chosen for the stage piano) to ensure a seamless interaction flow when you return. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
