 QUESTIONS

About image-to-MusicXML

Will the MusicXML open in Finale, Sibelius, Dorico?

Yes. ScoreFlip outputs MusicXML 4.0, fully compatible with every major notation app — Finale, Sibelius, Dorico, MuseScore, Notion, Encore. Compressed .mxl format also available.

Can I scan a multi-page PDF?

Yes. Drop a full PDF and every page is processed in order and merged into one MusicXML document with correct measure numbering. Up to 25 MB on the free tier.

Does it preserve articulations, dynamics, and lyrics?

Yes. Dynamics (p, mf, ff), articulations (staccato, accent, tenuto, marcato), tempo markings, repeats, voltas, and lyric text are all carried through to the MusicXML output. Slurs and ties too.

What about handwritten sheet music?

Yes. ScoreFlip's OMR is trained on handwritten manuscripts. Accuracy is around 89% on clean handwriting; messy drafts may need review. Confidence scores tell you which measures to double-check.

Can I edit before downloading?

The web tool gives you a read-only preview before export. For full editing, use the iOS, Android, or desktop app — or open the MusicXML in your notation app and edit there.
